Stinking Polecats started out in May'96 as a 3-piece consisting of Christian, Simone and original drummer, Blanka. This line-up recorded the first 7 song, 7" ep, "Love?!". Blanka left in the summer of '97 and in came Davide on drums and Luca on second guitar. Before '97 was done the band recorded 4 tracks for a split 7" with the band Home Alone (now called Retarded). In early '98, England's Irritation Records offered to put out a CDEP for the band. So 10 songs were recorded in an afternoon at Elfo Studio and this became "These Are Just Stoopid Songs Played By Morons". The CD sold well in the UK and Italy so it was decided that a UK tour should be embarked on. While that was being sorted out, Voghera's Saucer Rex asked The Polecats to record 2 songs for a split 7" with the US band The Automatics. "Sai Baba Built My Hotrod....." was the best stuff yet and set them up nicely for the forthcoming UK tour. So in November The Stinking Polecats braved the British winter and came over for a fun but ultimately money losing adventure. Great gigs were played, cool people met and bad British food consumed. A plan was hatched while at the Self Destruct "office" in Glasgow to donate 2 songs to a split 7" Destructos and after about a million problems with pressing plants and printers and shit, it finally came out in March of '99. The band returned to the UK in January 2000 for a successful UK tour and have also recorded a handful of new songs for upcoming releases. Up the Pasta Punx!
